Topics include Prime Minister of Iran Ali Amini, the leadership of the Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, United States assistance to Iran for civic programs and the Military Assistance Program (MAP), Iran’s Third Plan for economic development, a proposed visit to the U.S. by the Shah, and Iran’s internal security organizations. Also included in this folder is an evaluation of the social and economic development program in Iran by Maurice J. Williams, Deputy Director of USOM/Iran (United States Operations Misson).

Topics include the resignation of Ali Amini as Prime Minister of Iran, the possibility of an insurgency against the Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, land reform, and United States military aid to Iran. Of note is correspondence between President John F. Kennedy and the Shah. Also included in this folder are numerous memoranda of conversations between Robert W. Komer of the National Security Council and Nasser Khan of the Qhashgai tribe in Iran, journalist C.D. Jackson and the Shah, and working luncheons of CENTO (Central Eastern Treaty Organization) Foreign Ministers.
