Folder Description
This folder contains memoranda, letters, and telegrams regarding the political and social climate in Iran. Topics include Prime Minister of Iran Ali Amini, the leadership of the Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, United States assistance to Iran for civic programs and the Military Assistance Program (MAP), Iran’s Third Plan for economic development, a proposed visit to the U.S. by the Shah, and Iran’s internal security organizations. Also included in this folder is an evaluation of the social and economic development program in Iran by Maurice J. Williams, Deputy Director of USOM/Iran (United States Operations Misson).
