Materials primarily consist of department and agency reports, memorandums, and briefing papers for the President on domestic and foreign affairs and national security. Subjects include Cuba and the Cuban Missile Crisis, the economy, and the current situation between India and China. Also included are draft press conference announcements, some with handwritten editorial marks and annotations by the President, and newspaper clippings. Of note is the press conference statement, signed by the President, on Executive Order 11063, which prevented discrimination in housing facilities owned or operated by the federal government.

Of note are handwritten notes and doodles by President Kennedy.
