Items include a memorandum of agreement for sale of the land from Hubert and Phoebe Phipps to Paul R. Fout; a confidential agreement between the Phipps, John F. Kennedy, and Paul Fout stating that the land would be acquired by Fout's name and then transferred to Kennedy; and a draft by Clifford of the confidential agreement. The agreement was intended to minimize the "unusual interest" and "unnecessary publicity" surrounding the President's purchase.
