Topics include inquiry into the deaths of President Diem and Ngo Dinh Nhu, the President's brother and chief advisor; dissension among the leaders of the coup in forming a provisional government; and international reaction to the coup. Also included is a CIA memorandum titled, "Cast of Characters in South Vietnam," providing brief biographies of civilian and military officials, as well as political figures outside the government.
