Kennedy's secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, concerning President Kennedy's address at a celebration held in Nashville, Tennessee commemorating the 90th anniversary of Vanderbilt University and the 30th anniversary of the Tennessee Valley Authority. In his speech the President discusses the educated citizen's obligations to serve the public, uphold the law, and defend the pursuit of learning. Materials in this folder include a press copy and reading copies of the speech (one with handwritten notations by the President), in addition to a program for the celebration and a copy of the President's remarks reprinted in the Vanderbilt Gazette.
