They also discuss the Literacy Corps, created by Congress the previous year to encourage college students to volunteer as tutors in local schools in exchange for course credit. The episode aired on Friday, February 17, 1989, on the Mutual Broadcasting System.

Schlesinger, Jr., an outline containing Special Counsel and speechwriter Theodore Sorensen's initials with handwritten notations by the President, and a press copy of the speech, in addition to a program for and a press release describing the White House Summer Seminar.
