Some material was widely distributed by the Bureau, while other correspondence is specific to discussions between the BOB and the Council of Economic Advisers. Correspondents from the BOB include Kermit Gordon (director), Elmer B. Staats (deputy director), Arthur B. Focke (general counsel), and Raymond T. Bowman (assistant director for statistical standards). The file also contains charts of Congressional actions on appropriation bills; reports on financial aspects of proposed and pending legislation; Congressional testimony of Gordon on the public debt limit; and a paper by Andrew H. Gantt II titled "Central Governments: Cash Deficits and Surpluses."
