Most records pertain to requests for copies of Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) statements before the JEC, administrative preparations for publishing the text of hearings, and CEA reactions to the testimony of others. Items in the file include a speech by James W. Knowles titled "The Crucial Years"; a memorandum from the Subcommittee on Economic Stabilization, Automation, and Energy Resources titled "Policy Aspects of Fluctuations in Business Inventories During the Post-War Period"; testimony by Ben William Lewis; a statement on taxation of foreign earnings; and data on manufacturers' shipments of mobile homes (1952-1960).

This folder contains material pertaining to tax reform, tax cuts, and the tax program of the Kennedy administration. Only a small portion appears to relate to the articles and memoranda by Joseph A. Pechman on the status of tax reform and the distributional effects of tax reduction. Other items include an essay by Frazar B. Wilde titled "Some Comments on the History and Position of the Business Committee for Tax Reduction in 1963"; a booklet by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, "Tax Cut: Price of Prosperity?"; a position paper on tax policy by The Business Council's Committee on Taxation; and fact sheets on the President's tax proposals by the U.S. Department of Labor.

This folder contains material pertaining to a study to assess how the tax cuts enacted in the Revenue Act of 1964 had affected businesses and consumers. Types of material include correspondence, memoranda, news articles, papers, and data tables. Also present is economic data from the first round of the study in June 1964, which was gathered by the Survey Research Center at the University of Michigan.

This folder contains a press copy of President John F. Kennedy's remarks to members of the National Advisory Council of the Small Business Administration (SBA) in the new flower garden of the White House. In his speech the President discusses the theoretical foundation for his tax reform program and the concrete ways said changes would improve the country's economy. The press copy also includes remarks from John E. Horne, Administrator of the SBA, and Cortland J. Silver, Vice Chairman of the National Advisory Council of the SBA.
