This folder contains materials collected by the office of President John F. Kennedy's secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, concerning President Kennedy's address to foreign college seniors and graduate students in the Washington area. A reception for the students was held on the south lawn of the White House. In his speech President Kennedy welcomes the students and expresses his appreciation for their choice to study in America. Materials in this folder include a reading copy and a press copy of the speech, in addition to a list of the attendees' affiliations.

This folder contains correspondence and memoranda relating to the Christmas holiday and drafts of President John F. Kennedy's holiday messages to the people of the United States, members of the Armed Forces, military veterans, the United States territories, and other groups. In addition to the draft messages, topics include the National Christmas tree and White House Christmas celebrations. Of note are a memorandum regarding a request that a Christmas message be sent from President Kennedy to all those who assisted in the college enrollment of James Meredith, the first African American student to attend the University of Mississippi, and a draft of a holiday message to non-Christian recipients.
