Of note are appeals made by Representative Kennedy to President Harry S. Truman, the Department of Justice, and the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS); and correspondence between Mr. Morrissey and Mary W. Davis, Representative Kennedy's secretary in the Washington, D.C., congressional office, regarding legislation proposed by the Congressman to address the issue.
