Materials in this folder include memoranda from Special Assistant to the President Frederick G. Dutton to various Cabinet Secretaries requesting a report on civil rights problems within their departments, telegrams concerning segregation at the Raleigh-Durham Airport in North Carolina, and a memorandum from Dutton to Special Counsel to the President Ted Sorensen concerning guidance on civil rights policy for certain members of the Administration. Also included in this folder is the 40th annual report by the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) titled “By the People.”
