The candidates answered questions on numerous issues, including the economy, the Federal budget, foreign policy, labor, nuclear disarmament, taxes, Berlin, and the invasion of Quemoy and Matsu. The debate was moderated by Bill Shadel of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC).
