Tyler and a White House Operator. At Tyler's request, the operator places a call to a man whose name sounds indistinct (probably H. Basil Robinson, Minister of the Canadian Embassy in the United States). Machine noise precedes the exchange. Item 27D.1A is a telephone conversation held on October 12, 1963, between Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs William R. Tyler and a man called "Basil" (probably H. Basil Robinson, Minister of the Canadian Embassy in the United States).
