The USS Eagle, a U.S. Coast Guard Academy training bark. The photograph was taken during a summer cadet practice squadron cruise on September 21, 1961. A caption on the verso of the photograph reads: "U.S. Coast Guard Academy training bark EAGLE with full blown sails cutting white caps on Atlantic Ocean swells bow on during summer Cadot Practice Squadron Cruise. Built in 1936, she is 295 ft. long, has a displacement of 1,634 tons, and her three masts support 21,350.8 square feet of sails. She is the only vessel of her type in the United States, and one of only four square riggers left in the world. CREDIT - OFFICIAL U.S. COAST GUARD PHOTO."

Byrd of Brookhaven, Mississippi.
