Western Union telegram from Ted Sorensen to Allan Nevins and Adlai Stevenson, et. al. soliciting suggestions for President Kennedy's inaugural address, dated December 23, 1960.
Kennedy had told Sorensen that he wanted suggestions “from everyone.” This telegram was sent to a select group of politicians, historians, economists, and writers. Ideas from the drafts submitted by John Kenneth Galbraith and Adlai Stevenson would find their way into the final speech.
