Folder Description
This folder contains material pertaining to the Consumer Advisory Council (CAC), which was formally established by the Council of Economic Advisers in July 1962 in order to ensure that the government considered the needs of consumers. These records document CAC meetings and include items such as meeting agendas, meeting minutes, background materials for discussion, official recommendations and resolutions, and press releases. There is also a report by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association titled "Excess Earnings and Your Light Bill," and a report summarizing consumer activities within federal agencies (1956-1962).
