Sound recording of President John F. Kennedy’s remarks at the National Gallery of Art upon the opening of the Mona Lisa exhibition. In his speech the President thanks France for loaning the painting, discusses the historical bonds that link the two countries, and describes André Malraux, the French Minister of Culture, as an example of the interconnectedness of art and politics.
