JFK Library “Late Nights” Will Open the Museum to the General Public After Hours for the First Time This Summer
— The four summer nights will include free admission and additional special events and activities —

BOSTON – For the first time, the JFK Presidential Library and Museum will open its Museum to the general public after hours for special “Late Nights at the Library.”

The Museum will be open for free from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on four special nights this summer. In addition to free admission to the Museum, the Library will host special activities for three of the four nights this summer.

“I am thrilled to invite our neighbors, friends, and visitors from near and far to check out the Library at night for the first time,” said Library Director Alan Price. “Through these special evening programs, we are hoping people can enjoy the Library at night as much as people enjoy it during the day.”

The late-night openings coincide with the opening of a new special exhibit, Service and Sacrifice: World War II – A Shared Experience, scheduled to open in July. Special food and drink options will be available for purchase and the Museum Store will be open.

The “Late Nights at the Library” schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, June 21:
Quiz Night with the Big Quiz Thing
Visitors will be able to test their knowledge either alone or as a team during a special trivia night program with The Big Quiz Thing hosting. The quiz will include special Museum exhibit questions.

Wednesday, July 12:
The Beantown Swing Orchestra
The Beantown Swing Orchestra will perform at the second evening program and offer dance lessons in between musical sets. The group will lead an educational session on Swing Era music and its significance in World War II connecting with the special exhibit at the Library.

Wednesday August 9:
The Museum will be open late with no special events.

Wednesday, August 16:
Forum with Historian and Author Matthew Delmont
Matthew Delmont, Dartmouth professor of history, discusses his recent book Half American: The Epic Story of African Americans Fighting World War II at Home and Abroad, which explores the crucial contributions of the more than one million Black men and women who served in World War II, serving in segregated units and performing unheralded but vital support jobs, only to be denied housing and educational opportunities on their return home.

Guests are recommended to RSVP for the late-night special events at http://www.jfklibrary.org/forums.

RSVPs are not required to tour the Museum galleries after hours.
